Our Friends

Read stories from some of our friends who have recieved The Salvation Poem.

Last Friday night at the Crossfire Youth Center we had Salvation Poem cards on the check in desk as kids were coming in the door. A young man was sitting in the corner reading the card when he jumped up and ran to one of our volunteers. He said he wanted to know what it meant. A couple of us shared with him the gospel message and he said he wanted to accept Christ in his life. He then said he wanted to tell other kids about what he just learned so we took him on the stage. He shouted "I'm born again!!!" Kids started cheering and it opened up a perfect opportunity for my husband to go up and share the same message with the other teenagers that were there. That night 5 young people gave their lives to Christ!! Praise God. What a practical tool that was definitely used that night!!

I received a salvation poem card in the mail last week from Samaritan's Purse in a donation acknowledgement. I thought it was neat and laid it on my counter, not knowing exactly what I would do with it. Several days later, I was at work (I'm a physician) and had an unusual 30 minute break without patients. My office manager (who I had been witnessing to and praying would come to Christ for the past 5 years), with tears in her eyes, came to my door and asks if I can tell her about becoming a Christian! I shared with her the gospel message and she prayed to receive Christ right in my office! I told her I had a card for her at home that whe could keep to remind her of her decision and the truth of the gospel. (I wish I had had it with me!) I brought the card to her the next day and she immediately took it from me and signed her name and date of salvation--she was so excited to have this reminder of her decision and new life in Christ! She proceeded to show it to everyone that day and she carries it with her credit cards! I think this is a great witnessing tool! I have been in a study group at my church the past 8 weeks-On Mission With God by Avery Willis and Henry Blackaby. I've been amazed at how timid even mature believers are at sharing their faith, and how scared and unsure they are in presenting the salvation steps. Keeping one of these cards in the wallet of every believer would help to alleviate their fears and anxiety in presenting the gospel easily. I think we know the gospel message, it's just that most believer's "freeze up" with fear that they won't remember the right things or somehow will mess up! The gospel message is simple, and with the Holy Spirit's guidance, these cards can bring victory over the fear of sharing our faith. Thank God from whom all blessings flow! May God bless you richly!

I received a Salvation Poem card last October. I told my three grandkids (ages 7, 4, and 3) that I would give them $2 if they could memorize it and say it perfectly. Our 3-year-old grandson Noah called me from Indiana one day and said, "Grandpa, when you come to visit us, you better bring your money." He had learned it perfectly and still knows it perfectly. Noah got his $2, plus 50 cents extra for being the first grandkid to learn it. I'm still working with the other grandkids. When I was growing up, my mom used to give me money to learn Scripture verses, and I learned hundreds. Money is a good motivator, but the bottom line is learning the message of salvation.

I was originally given some of these cards. I started to hand them out as I travelled around the country. I had the privelidge of leading a sister to the lord with one of these cards! They are a wonderful tool of the Lord. Don't leave home without them. You NEVER know when or where the Lord is going to use you. Carry a few in your wallet and be ready. God Bless you all.
