Samaritan’s Purse was founded in 1970 to meet emergency needs in crisis areas. After the death of founder Bob Pierce in 1978, Franklin Graham was named president of the organization. Today, through its programs for international crisis response and U.S. disaster relief, World Medical Mission, Operation Christmas Child, the Children’s Heart Project and Operation Heal Our Patriots, the staff and volunteers of Samaritan’s Purse offer more than help: they offer hope. To suffering people in a broken world, they share the news of the only one who can bring true peace—Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. In partnership with The Salvation Poem Foundation, Samaritan’s Purse has distributed millions of keepsake wallet cards and other materials imprinted with The Salvation Poem.
